Artists Carolyn Bayliss with The Woman who had no Vagina (images looking at the vagina that society has created which you are invited to comment on. Includes subjects such as slang, genital mutilation in hard core porn, promiscuity), Catherine Kaufman with her figures which look at woman from ancient to modern times, Donna Hilton-McAllister doing live painting, Emma Buggy (Miss Vagina Head). Emma's work includes a prosthetic vagina that she wears on her head outside strip joints in Soho, London, sculpture which mixes vaginas and penises, mouths and anuses. Love Your Local Market runs from Wednesday 15th May to Wednesday 29th May in Dudley Town Centre. The Council have put a call out for crafters who would like to take up a 9ft pitch on the market for the day during this two week period.

Prices vary depending on what day, but the highest price (for a Saturday) is just £8.91 for the day!

applecart.org gallery updated...

For ages I was trying to figure out a new way of showing work on the sites gallery, partly because more and more people are using tablets and smart phones, heralding the death of 'flash' elements, and the art-board that is on the site was not showing up on some devices. I have remedied the problem (partly with laziness - or rather the thought that I ain't gettin paid for this so it's gotta be kept simple!), and have added a simple grid-list type of thing under the flash element. The art board shows the most recent additions on top, and the liost shows them at the bottom, so every artist gets a fair deal...

Anyway, the site is now up and running properly again, and I only need to mess with it when adding new work to the gallery or to the links page. The network will run more predominantly on Facebook, where there is also a page for artists to show their work and network with each other more easily... Now to get on with some of my own artwork for a change! :)

1 day Fringe-like event in Walsall being organised...
